ANCHOR BRAKE ($230 for the pieces)
When the chain wrapped around a obstruction below me as I anchored in Banderas Bay, the extreme stresses on the bow pulled the brake right out of the deck.
Blank area on the bow where the brake was ripped out. Brake now positioned closer to the windlass
We could not find a complete solution to repair or replace the brake, so we had the piece machined, per Francisco’s design.
Plate under the deck with the new hardware to bolt the anchor down
Francisco put the pieces in place, with me offering unneeded advice all the time.
Brake secured on deck
The solution worked perfectly, and I am sure the brake is now far more solid and secure than it ever was.
Brake installed in its new position. Old position sealed up.
